How To Secure Your Facebook Account From Hackers


Facebook is the largest and most popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues.

Due to a large number of registered users on facebook, there is always a problem of security as hackers are always there trying to gain access to your account. Hence, the need to secure your account becomes a major priority as it might be a major blow to lose all your friends and private information to this hackers.

The good news is that facebook recently introduced a high level of security on their website called “Two Factor Authentication” that allows you to do a two way SMS verification on your account in order to login from unrecognised devices.

HOW TO ENABLE TWO WAY AUTHENTICATION ON FACEBOOK

USING YOUR PC

Follow the steps to activate facebook´s two way authentication using your computer and secure your account today!

1. Login to your facebook account using your PC

2. Click on the Dropdown Menu just immediately after the quick help icon

3. On the dropdown menu, locate and click Settings



4. Locate the Security and Login link on the left side of the page and click on the link



5. Look for the Setting Up and Extra Security Panel on the page

6. Click on the Edit button on the right side of Use Two-Factor Authentication



7. If you don’t have a phone number linked to your Facebook Account, you are to click on Add Phone Number else proceed to step 9.



8. After adding a Phone Number,  click enable Phone Number.

9. Refresh the page and click on Setup, you will be shown a confirmation dialog, click Enable Button to Finish the process. window





10. Once you finish the setup process, Facebook two factor authentication will be enabled on your account, you will now be sent a verification code each time you log into your account from unrecognized devices.


USING YOUR MOBILE DEVICE

Follow the steps to activate facebook´s two way authentication using your mobile phone or tablet.

1. Login to your Facebook account using your phone



2. Click on the Dropdown Menu in the above image, then click Account Settings



3. Click Security and Login in the next page.



4. Click Use Two-Factor Authentication




5. Click Third-Party Authenticator, then you will be asked to enter your password.



6. Re-enter your password and click Continue to finish the process.



Once you finish the setup process, Facebook two factor authentication will be enabled on your account, you will now be sent a verification code each time you log into your account from unrecognized devices.
