How to Change Windows 10 Startup Menu to Windows 7 Style



Windows 10 is the latest operating system from Microsoft Corporation for servers, desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, phones, and other connected devices (i.e. Internet of Things). The OS was officially released worldwide on July 29, 2015.

While most PC users are upgrading to Microsoft Latest OS, some who have worked with previous versions of the Windows OS such as Windows 7 always find it difficult to cope with the new User Interface (UI) design of Windows 10. Hence, i have written this tutorial for people like me who love the Windows 7 User Interface.

TOOLS NEEDED

The following are needed to proceed with this tutorial

  1. A PC running on Windows 10 OS
  2. Stardock Start10 Software. (Click here to download)

CUSTOMIZING WINDOWS 10 STARTUP MENU

The new Windows 10 Start Menu can now be customized to look like Windows 7 by following these steps below

1. Download Windows 10 StartUp Menu software (Download here)


2. Unzip the file using WinRAR or any File Extractor software. You can find one here


3. When prompted for a password, enter ‘howtosplanet’ to unzip the file

4. Open the unzipped folder and click on Setup to begin installation


5. Choose English as preferred language


6. Click Next to Continue


7. You will be prompted to choose installation path, leave the default path and click next


8. Click Install


9. After Install, Click FInish and ensure ‘Configure Start 10 now’ is checked.


10. The Configuration Window will be loaded and you can now choose any of the three available Start Menu Interfaces.


11. Close the Window and Press your start button, you should now see your new Windows 7 Start Menu
